Shopping, Ill and Holidays

Hello my Darlins,

I can't believe the shopping frenzy going on, wow! almost stepping on the little short people or bout get stampeded. Also quite funny to see shelves almost bare during the day yet when you go at night, the shelves are restocked and lots of items to choose for gifts. I think these 24 hour shopping events are the coolest!

I had gone to a community dinner event and ended up sickly for a few days. I think some food got tainted and I was just down and out. Missed out on some awesome shopping days and behind in my gift shopping now. I get leery with potluck dinners or other public food events but is rude to decline when invited. It's too bad there is not a spray available to rid suspect germs from food, now that would be quite a invention!

All my Christmas cards are late but least they have Happy New Year wishes included so not too late? Shopping may be crazy but least we meet up with friends and have quick gossip and chatter sessions or lunch. I tire out too easily though so I try to just keep moving and get what I need fast but difficult when other gift ideas pop up. No wonder stores love shoppers. By the time I get home, I need a nap.

Well, I can't complain too much since I am down to stocking stuffers now. Not sure what to get either besides the usual grooming products. After all, who doesn't want to look or smell great? I have bombed out with mens cologne and will have to double check on fragrances. Popular ones didn't go over well with my sons.

Alright, I know time is short and duty calls. I will leave these for you and hope you least get to chuckle --> Christmas Jokes

-- Christmas: The time when everyone gets Santamental.

-- Running reindeer romp 'round red wreaths.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! please take care and stay safe,k.

Holiday Cheer and Wishes

Hello My Wonderful Friends,

I hope you are keeping warm with this weather. I just had a cold snap go through here these past few days. Can you believe even my dogs are wearing the sweaters I put on them? and they are quite a sight. A few guys I know are teasing me about making my dogs get fashion conscious but that's not the case. Tis the season and I just want my dogs to survive the winter in some comfort.

I finally put my tree up and decorated my house and even dressed up the windows. Pictures of candy canes, stockings, snowflakes and holly though some people been asking why I have cherries in my windows. I never claimed to be a perfect artist what can I say? :)

I lost the tape a few times while decorating and had my boys helping me to find it. I think they got frustrated and were teasing me about alzheimers. We even wrapped up a few gifts and have them under the tree. I still need to get candy canes and tinsel for the tree plus finish my Christmas shopping. All the teenagers that come through my house, will least get their regular candy cane treat at my house, yet another year. Tis a tradition now, I guess.

I had one son wrapping gifts with me and he just sort of, scrunched the paper around the gift. Good grief! I asked if he plans to wrap gifts like that for his own children in the future. He then stopped to think and re-wrapped the gift and we had lost the gift tags amidst the paper. Joys of the holidays.

Our Wally world store is open for 24 hours now and hard to shop! I think I just may have to go there in the middle of the night to get anything since getting around is so crowded, wow! Friends greet me with pulling off my stocking cap. Yes, one of those long tailed hats, a conservative dark blue with turquoise pom-pom and pretty.

I know you must run so I will leave you this list of SMS jokes and hope you least get to have a chuckle ---> SMS Messages

-- HELP: Cops are after a suspect who smart, witty, sexy and good lookin...so where you gonna hide ME?
-- How many letters in the Alphabet? 19, cuz ET went home on a UFO and the FBI went after him.
-- Q: Why did the blond get fired from the banana plantation?
A: Because she threw out all the bent ones.
-- If practice makes perfect, and nobody's perfect, why practice?
-- Apart from being sexy, what do you do for a living?

I wish you a good night, good morning, you're in my prayers. Please take care and stay safe.

Seasons Greetings

Greetings my Friends,

I hope you are well and in good spirits with the upcoming holidays. I do believe that I heard you have been nice this year and Santa will pop, poof, hop or waddle by your way as you deserve a Christmas and wonderful holidays. Make sure you get your stockings hanging up and cookies out, too.

Do you remember those stocking hats? I had one that I would not part with even after they went out of style but it poofed one year and I never saw it again. Joys of our childhood huh? Thankfully, there are patterns out now to make one and fleece is awesome fabric. Shall I tuck one under the tree for you?

Snow has finally arrived in the Borealis forest and is about half foot deep now, wow! big snowflakes but cloudy, cloudy skies. Roads were hazardous and too slick to drive even with snow tires. We still found ourselves sliding around so had to creep back home. So much for sneaking away for Christmas shopping.

I didn't even get the chance to get my lights up yet but I have to get a new outdoor power cord since a dog (not mine!) chewed the last cord. Add to the joy of trying to find somebody to go up on a ladder since I am too scared of heights. Yeah, it's only a few feet but add my own height and it looks way too high, silly phobia, yeah.

I am back to drinking tea in the evenings and now added hot chocolate and apple cider for these chillier days. I will have to pick up marshmallows also for the hot chocolate. Temperatures still are not too bad though. Not quite to the normal -30+ or wicked wind chill but I might be jinxing myself now.

I will put my Christmas tree up around December 10 and take it down about two weeks after New Years. Some people think that's too long but I love gazing at the tree with all those colorful lights. I hang decorations from the ceiling and the lights just add such colorful displays. How can anybody resist that?

I know time is short for you and must run. I will leave these for you and hope you least leave with a chuckle --> Christmas Jokes

(Q) What do reindeer hang on their Christmas trees?
(A) Horn-aments!

(Q) Where do snowmen go to dance ?
(A) Snowballs!

(Q) What did the guest sing at the Eskimo's Christmas party ?
(A) Freeze a jolly good fellow!

(Q) What do you get when you cross an archer with a gift-wrapper?
(A) Ribbon hood.

I hope you have wonderful holidays and a Merry Christmas. Please take care and stay safe.

Blessed Thanksgiving

Hello my Friends,

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Today is Thanksgiving 2009 and I know you are far from home but hope you know, you are in many hearts and thoughts at many tables, including mine. You hold a special place of honour and there is none more deserving.

I hope you have a day surrounded with friends and a round of some sort of sports going on, to build up your appetite. Remember to drink a lot of water also to keep you well hydrated. One must practice patience while waiting for the phone line or internet to clear up. I know it gets annoying but you will have your chance to send your message to family. I was once told, when it seems there are obstacle to something we want right now, it's a lesson being given in patience. What are your thoughts on that?

I quite enjoy the variety of turkey images that are available online. Some really great and humorous graphic artists. A favorite commercial of mine is the bunny clucking like a chicken, for Easter. First time I heard that, I thought I'd die of laughter. Wow! some good marketing tactics out there, don't you think? I think there should be lots more turkey gobble audio sounds on tv commercials too.

Plates of turkey, spuds, vegetables, gravy and beverages with pumpkin pie or other favorite desserts. Top off with a glass of wine and toast to you and fellow man for all that we have, this I wish for you and me. Mind you, I'd have to recommend that nobody let me near the stove to cook. I'm still sort of charring mine.

Finish with conversations of all that's good, funny and loved. A round of games maybe? would you even have the energy or will you doze off? How about a round of partner Skip-bo? I've played where people have forgotten that they even had partners and risk their game. :)

The night will settle in slowly and is time for rest soon. I know you must run and I won't keep you. I leave this last little bit for you, hope you chuckle ;

The three days following Thanksgiving are commonly referred to as:

a) the Marathon Football Endurance Test
b) the Turkey Variations Endurance Test
c) the Leftover Relative Endurance Test

I wish you a Blessed Thanksgiving, my darling(s). Please take care and stay safe, k.

Joys of a Dogs Life

Hello my Schnookums,

I hope you are well this Friday evening. Wow, that flu shot knocked me out and time sure has passed since I been here. Shame on me! sorry darlins. I went out and fed my dogs but this other dog, bigger than my dogs, came along trying to eat their food. I was wondering what the ruckus was about and ran out in my socks. Thankfully there's only frost outside and no snow yet. Anyways, this dog was not afraid of me so I had to run and quickly grab a rake and threw it at him to chase him away. My poor dog was so scared he wouldn't eat. The other one was alright, she kept on eating.

I really don't like dogs that behave like that. Not afraid of us humans when we are supposed to be the masters, well, maybe not his master but hope you know what I'm talking about. Do you think the Dog Whisperer would come out to teach people about dogs running in packs?

I already told you about tripping on that wire. No idea how I get myself tangled in a wire but it did cut around my ankle. Thank goodness that the tetanus shot lasts for ten years. I was worried that I would have to get flu shot and a tetanus but no, I was saved from further pricklings. Who enjoys being a pin cushion? I am very good at ensuring I get rest and healthy nutrition when sick but my sons still don't like it. Still can't get over getting both the H1N1 and regular flu shot at the same time. Strange, don't you think?

I love checking out this website, Threadbanger dot com. They have awesome recycle, deconstruct and reconstruct videos. It's great! I use to watch them on television and didn't realize they had moved to the internet but it's great. I still get to fetch some ideas on *recycling* clothes. Out with the old and in with something new, original and one-of-a-kind.

I put a sweater on the dogs again. Really don't know why I keep trying since I found them all torn to shreds this morning. They are kind of on the fat side and have real thick fur. I guess I should be glad for that little bit huh?

I know you must run and tend to your duties. I will leave this ;

Real 911 Calls

BELIEVE it or not , These are REAL 911 Calls!

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency? Caller: I heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the brown house on the corner. Dispatcher: Do you have an address? Caller: No, I have on a blouse and slacks, why?

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency? Caller: Someone broke into my house and took a bite out of my ham and cheese sandwich . Dispatcher: Excuse me? Caller: I made a ham and cheese sandwich and left it on the kitchen table and when I came back from the bathroom, someone had taken a bite out of it. Dispatcher: Was anything else taken? Caller: No, but this has happened to me before and I’m sick and tired of it!

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is the nature of your emergency? Caller: I’m trying to reach nine eleven but my phone doesn’t have an eleven on it. Dispatcher: This is nine eleven. Caller: I thought you just said it was nine-one-one Dispatcher: Yes, ma’am nine-one-one and nine-eleven are the same thing. Caller: Honey, I may be old, but I’m not stupid.

My Personal Favorite!!! Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What’s the nature of your emergency? Caller: My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart Dispatcher: Is this her first child? Caller: No, you idiot! This is her husband!

And the winner is……….

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 Caller: Yeah, I’m having trouble breathing. I’m all out of breath. Darn….I think I’m going to pass out. Dispatcher: Sir, where are you calling from? Caller: I’m at a pay phone. North and Foster. Dispatcher: ! Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic? Caller: No Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing? Caller: Running from the Police.

I hope you're smiling and know that I keep you in my prayers. Please take care and stay safe, k.

Remembrance Day

Hello my Darlins,

I hope you are well. It has been a sad time here with that incident at Ft Hood and just breaks my heart that such acts occur. You already have enough to worry about and do not need to worry about home. Well, I am sure our top leaders will make changes to ensure there's no repeat.

Remembrance Day is tomorrow and all the Poppies I see is such a beautiful sight and makes me feel so proud. I keep mine from the last few years, pinned around the house so I guess you can imagine, I have a bouquet. I'll be attending a ceremony and my son has been asked to do Flag duty again. We are proud and they have great admiration for the duties of our Soldiers, both past and present and includes you.

I came across a article about the Navajo Code Talkers. They are looking to set up a museum about these soldiers in particular and their activities. I was surprised with learning about them not having been aware of how much they had helped. They upheld the directive to not discuss their duties. Amazing, don't you think?

I found it rather poignant and believe they should get full support and approval of their project, for their contribution. They are for now, literally, living historic figures! and a novel chapter of WW II history. It would be curious, to find out what the soldiers children have to say about their fathers, who worked with a Code talker, don't you think? they will be participating in the Veterans Day parade in NYC, well, a few of them. I bet they will look fantastic!

Come to think of it. My own father and late uncle had served in Korea and they would not disucss this topic either. My sons are part of a family that has kept a family history from their first arriving ancestor to Canada. They have reunions also but there are two branches in the family and the Native American side feel uncomfortable even though they are also in the family album. Yes, they included my picture also.

How time flies when we are having fun and I must be running over time for you. Sorry my darlins. I will leave this for you and includes commentary --> Actual Newspaper Headlines

Tis the Cold Season

Hello my Dear Friends,

Well, I have been doing battle with colds. My son got sick last weekend and had a high fever. We are not sure if it started with getting exposed to his aunt who had a bad cold and was told not to mingle with others or from his flu shot which he got the next day. We are not sure which is the culprit but both experiences had me worried when he got his fever.

I spent that weekend making sure he drank a lot of water, ate soup, rest and Advil to lower his temperature, every four hours. Even in the middle of the night I got up to check his fever. Yes, very devoted to the health of my son even he is a young adult least he understands the concern with all the news about the H1N1 swine flu virus.

Well, whatever was going on moved into his chest and his fever was gone. We were then told to visit the health clinic only if he had trouble breathing meanwhile he was coughing up yucky green stuff. I was quite outraged needless to say. It was now my turn to get sick and had to further quarantine ourselves from the rest of the family. Colds really are annoying.

I am better now after a week of fatigue, fever and chills. I ate even though I felt nauseous and took Advil for the pain in my joints. It was a very tiring week over all but am glad it has passed. Now we are keeping an eye on my other son to see if he develops a cold. So far there is nothing. I don't think we want another round of a cold going on.

I highly recommend non-stop nutrition while sick. It provides energy for the immune system, so eat! no matter how nauseous one is feeling. Nutrition, water, and rest help one through a cold quickly. I went out and bought some vitamins for my boys too. Yeah, such a worry wart. Don't tell anybody huh?

Fevers really are not something to be lightly dismissed and least alerts a parent to indicate something is wrong. Seeing our children ill and feeling miserable is the one thing we cannot take away as much as we would like to. Least we can do our best to soothe, comfort and help them through the illness.

I also recommend making lots of chicken soup. Least one can have nutritious broth if not up to the food part. I can swear my body just swelled with energy. Nuts as that may sound. I made sure my son had chicken broth, soup and gave him applesauce and jello just for variety and easy on his stomach for him and me. I had to make more after he got better and ate the pot!

Well, least we are better. I will get my own flu shot on the 17th and not excited. Do you get tired and achey afterwards? I'm not excited and just sigh with dread but know it's a necessity. I have to smile that my sons get fussy over me when I'm sick and quote, they 'are not used to seeing their mom getting sick.' Cute huh? :)

Alright, I know you must run as duty calls. I will leave you this for a smile and chuckle --> Why am I tired

The population of this country is about 237 million.

104 million are retired.

That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.

Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, leaving 19 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 16.2 million work.

Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Governments and that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.

And you're sitting at your computer reading jokes...

I hope you take great care and please stay safe, k.

Night Sky Light Show

Hello My Darlins,

I hope you will get to see the meteorite showers that are around at this time of year. Shooting stars are such a beautiful sight, don't you think? According to SkyEye there are about 18 meteor showers throughout the year! WOW! when you get the chance, will you join me one night to sit and watch them with me?

I bought some candy for Halloween but they are gone now. My sons found the stash and well, need I say more? I will have to restock and probably hide them in the trunk of the car or some sort of locked container. At least their not eating such candies everyday, is a blessing in disguise of a sorts. They rarely have to see the dentist for anything other than a cleaning.

I think it would be nice to get a telescope and see the stars above. Stars, galaxies, the moon! Can you imagine if we built a Observatory/Science centre on the moon? right between and inside, one of those peaks on the moon? Now that would be quite the tourist destination don't you think? Such dreams, yes I know, ordinary Janes and Joe's wouldn't be able to afford such a trip.

I once saw this kaliedoscope made of stained glass. It was so beautiful! Not sure I would know how to build one but kaliedoscopes are as beautiful as our stars. The colors and craftsmanship is a skill to behold in person, really. For now, I enjoy the basic stained glass window hanging and admire other works of art online. There are some fantastic artists out there and the prices for their art is worth it.

I just may have to take a look at the local college to see what they have to offer for night classes in stained glass and astronomy. I don't always understand the number system that's used to identify our stars and galaxies. Me and a few other million people I guess. Anyways, I know you cannot stay long and must run. I will leave you this ---> A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon. Four worms were placed into four separate jars.
The first worm was put into a container of alcohol. The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke. The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup. The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil. At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol -Dead.
The second worm in cigarette smoke - Dead
Third worm in chocolate syrup -Dead
Fourth worm in good clean soil -Alive.

So the Minister asked the congregation - What did you learn from this demonstration? Maxine was sitting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said, 'As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!' That pretty much ended the service --

I send my prayers out for you to take great care and please stay safe.

Cuddling Season

Hello My Darlings,

I hope you are good this day. Not sure how the weather is for you but here in the Borealis forest the trees are stripping fast, hardly saw any colors, winds are getting chillier and even my dogs are getting thicker coats, not sure about the hair ball.

I will have to stock up on my wild bird seed for the winter another item for my To-do list, notice that? I also have to stock up on some Halloween candy quickly and some sort of costume to greet the kids at the door. My one son wants to dress as a nurse and the other one is too busy laughing. I think a fancy chef hat and mustachio of some sort will work just fine for him rather than try to make a M&M costume.

I perused through some Youtube videos to learn how to make this, that, and the other thing. Whipping up some sort of halloween costume shouldn't be too hard. Still not sure I want to style my hair into some sort of huge, fluffy, poofy ball. Will I have knots and tangles I won't be able to get out? I really don't want to terrify the children that come to the door either.

I don't even have any halloween decorations up yet! usually I have spiders (ewww!) ghosts, black cats and pumpkins around. One year the ghosts and spiders were hanging too close to the door and they would get tangled up around people at the door. A sight indeed, really. Another addition to my to-do list.

Doesn't it seem as if one holiday comes right up after another? About a week after my bithday I will hang Christmas decorations. One set of decorations come down and another set of holiday decorations goes up. I enjoy the smiles from the kids even my overgrown boys. It's not the work that makes holidays so special but the people involved and the give and take. It's a special moment that should be enjoyed, don't you think? not to mention that I really do enjoy the decorating. :)

I absolutely love that move, Bringing Down the House and that dance scene with Steve Martin all dressed hip hop? just awesome. I should learn how to do some hip hop moves and not just basic dance steps. Maybe you and I will get the chance to dance together irregardless if you have two left feet. Dancing is a awesome cardiovascular work out for the body too.

Well, I know you can not stay long as duty calls. I found this and hopefully will leave a chuckle ---> Why was the energizer bunny arrested? He was charged with battery. I hope you take great care and please stay safe.

Winter Prep

Hello My Darlings,

I hope you are safe and well. I still have yet to finish my list of items for winter which seems to be hovering over the horizon. I even got a doghouse for my little, four legged, nervous, nitty of a dog. He looks like a miniature, German Shepherd dog with his coloring and is quite funny how he blends right into the surrounding shrubbery. It's hard to tell if he is there or not. Natural coat of camouflage is what my boys tell me.

The doghouse is a little too big but it even has insulation on the interior. I hope he doesn't chew it off. Once the snow levels start rising I can bury the sides and he should have quite the comfortable little doghouse for the duration of the winter season. I am quite pleased with this. Now, if only I could get him to stop chewing his dogbed. Oh yes, will have another question to ask Cesar Milan of the Dog Whisperer television show, for sure.

I have so many things getting added to my To-Do list with Halloween coming up fast upon us, a couple of birthdays, winter gear and Christmas shopping! I hope that I will slowly make this list shorter rather than longer. At least I'm keeping everything organized and is just a matter of managing my funds and time appropriately. Joys of a single parent huh?

I have browsed through a few recipes and added them to my own little private collection of recipes. I burned another pizza again and people were laughing and teasing me, yet once again, about keeping the fire department on stand-by. That would be quite the picture, having a few firemen standing around waiting to put a cooking fire out just outside my front door. I really should pick up a timer.

I enjoy browsing vintage fashion sites and the clothes. Some are so beautiful while others, well, they look like potato sacks. I will have to look into sewing patterns for vintage fashions. I would like to try to mix and match various fashion styles to see what I come up with. I just added something else to my To-do list now, haven't I?

I know time is limited for you as you have other duties to tend do and will sign off for now. I hope that you take great care and caution. I will leave this little tidbit and hope you chuckle through the day and have fun passing it on ;

Knock, knock
Who’s there?

Madam foot is caught in the door.

Take care my friends and please stay safe. :)

Winterizing

Hello My Darlings,

I hope you are doing well and safe. It is definitely cooler outside and to the point where we must wear a coat. Flu shot clinics are getting setting up and offered in phases and I must wait till October according to the calendar which is ok. I haven't had the flu in a long time unless you call the side effects of getting the shot, having the flu. Usually I am just tired and sleepy but nothing else really after I get a flu shot and my shoulder will be tender. I hope you get one too and therefore staying healthy.

I was cutting up a steak for some stew in the slow cooker and of course just have to nick a slice on my finger, nothing bad, just a nick. Now it feels awkward typing and had to change my band aid twice. I have tried getting my dogs to wear dog sweaters but to no effect. I always found them torn to shreds and pointless to try getting them to wear one. I feel better when they do wear them but as soon as I'm gone they chew, roll, etc., until it's no longer on them. I have tried for a few years too and should maybe email the Dog Whisperer about that one.

The cat was inside the bag of dog food once again. My son was wondering why she was suddenly getting *plump* and round. Least now we know and we got to figure out where to put the dog food since the cat will slice through the bottom of the dog food bag. I am guessing that I will have to get a large storage container to solve that problem, silly cat. I still think they look like rats but dont' tell my son.

I am quite happy there are no flies or mosquitoes and a time to celebrate. Maybe gather for a hot toddy? hot apply cider or hot chocolate will do also. It's nice to take a break from tea now and again and no bugs flying around. No more midnight buzzing or annoying morning ones either. We can hang the fly swatter up to retire for the season at long last.

I will have to call my sons uncle for a favor. My other son wants to go hunting but has no idea about it whatsoever. He does go out and snare rabbits for his grandmother each fall but hunting a deer is a different sort altogether! deer stew tastes amazing and a dish that my boys have loved, since they were tiny. He doesn't know what's involved with hunting so I will have to get his uncle to take him out into the forest and show him how it's done. I hope he doesn't think of Bambi.

A birthday is upcoming. I've already given him his birthday money to buy whatever it is he is looking to get. He will go off with his father to either Winnipeg or Thunder Bay to get his guitar thingy. It's not a whammy bar but some sort of guitar distortion pedal somethingorother. They are missing their jam sessions on the roof already. I don't know how they manage that because I can't get beyond four feet in the air.

Alright, I know you are busy and must run off to your duties. I will leave this for you --> Six slippery snails slid slowly seaward. I hope you take care and please stay safe.

Task at Hand

Hello my Darlins,

I hope you are well. The butterflies, roses and flowers definitely distract me from the chilliness of the oncoming winter. Thank you, and they take me to places in the heart where you reside. :) I really wouldn't mind having hot toddies with you one day so just call and give me a time and date, k?

I was talking to a gal pal of mine who owns a store and she was telling me her tenant horror story. It really is sad that people with mental instability can wreak such havoc on others. At least my gal pal felt whole again after talking with me about her ordeal going through the legal system. There really needs to be some sort of protection against such acts, it's awful for any person or business to have to be so vulnerable to such attacks from people with a psychological diagnosis.

I am looking so forward to watching a favorite series on HBO, Dexter. Yes, I know, I so go on about that show but there are others I enjoy too, like True Blood, Bones, Heroes, and upcoming SG-U may prove to be interesting. Also started watching NCIS-Los Angeles and the new season of NCIS. These shows have drama, humor and action. What more could a gal ask for now?

I bought Star Trek, Undiscovered Country. My sons said, where's part IV and V? I only bought my favorite ones first and will now have to finish the collection. I thought Freddie vs Jason was real dumb then Alien vs Predator came out and thought, what?! I got around to watching it and actually enjoyed that and yes, I even bought the AVP,Requiem. Not that a prospect of such creatures existing on Earth would be a joy but the stories were done well, least I think so. My sons want me to get the Aliens series now on top of the Sopranos!

I am still waiting on the new schedules for Generation Kill and True Blood. I keep surfing the satellite channels to make sure I don't miss it or go online to check which only tells me to watch for upcoming schedules. Yeah, ok, real informative.

Yes, I have this routine of nights where I kick the boys out or they actually sit and join me (amazing really) to watch my show. Usually they have it on the Leafs channel or some other sports. They hate trying to watch figure skating, decorating, boxing or horse racing with me but don't mind baseball and definitely, hockey.

I still can't decide if I have a good T.V. or not. It's a LCD 32' and another gal pal I know has a plasma and way bigger than mine. What is up with this size thing anyways, really. So, am still trying to figure which is better. I love mine though as far as I'm concerned. Fits perfectly into my little 'Dollhouse'.

Look at the time and I know you must run. Alright, will leave you with this and hope you get a chuckle --> If farmers had cut dairy product prices, would it be OK to say that farmers cut the cheese? I send my prayers out for God to keep you safe. Take care my Darlins and will wait.

Cold Season Prep

Hello my Darlings,

I hope this writing finds you safe and well. Can you believe we had thunder storms the last two days? wow. Now it's downright chilly and I am considering turning on the furnace yet again. I didn't even get to go sit outside with my cup of tea to enjoy the stars since there are clouds and the wind is cold and too blustery. Mind you, I love listening to the wind in the trees. Such a beautiful sound.

I packed up my summer clothes into their respective totes, bags and boxes then pulled out my winter clothes including my pink longjohns. I am not sure where I packed my winter boots and might have to look in the crawl space. Not sure I want to go there with spiders running amok. Oh, they are just to creepy looking and yes, my arachnophobia is showing once again, I know, pardon me.

The trees are looking more bare each day and the leaves on the ground are accumulating in number. Am I supposed to rake the leaves? they are just getting blown all over the place and I do live in the forest. I suppose it would be a rather silly task to do and I can't stand when the rake gets caught in the grass and the bushes. End up playing tug-a-war for my rake!

I do believe that new winter coats are overdue. I hope that I can find ones for extreme cold weather. It's almost difficult finding these coats around here and will most likely require me to go to the cities. Such a long way east or west too and all I want to do is sleep when in the car. A great companion to drive with, don't you think?

A notice went out about more bear sightings. I read a story about a bear attack in British Columbia and importance of having pepper spray on hand. Not sure I would want to spray a bear, get him or her mad just to get time to run away. Can you imagine? I'm scared just thinking about it.

Well, I won't keep you my darlings. I will leave this here ---> The sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick. I hope you have fun with it and want you to please take care and stay safe.

XOXO

Fall Harvests

Hello my Darlins,

I hope you are well. I will fuss n worry since winter is over the horizon. For now at home for me, tis fall and season for harvests. I saw a vehicle a few days ago with a huge pumpkin on a trailer. I think they were on their way to some sort of Fall festival and maybe a competition over in Thunder Bay. They must have been about 1.5 metres plus, round! just huge I tell you.

Blueberry season also and I have nobody to go out with me. It's not recommended one goes alone since there are bears around. Maybe you can accompany me and keep me safe? How I love blueberries too and I must wait for a invitation or till somebody is free. I guess the idea of spending time outdoors with flies, horseflies, and deer flies is not a ideal outing for some people.

Fall can be so beautiful with the colorful leaves, migrating ducks and geese. I already miss our friendly, neighborhood loon over on the lake. No more haunting calls at nights. The hummingbirds are most definitely gone now and I think the bats too. Almost feel abandoned, what's up with that?

The days are getting shorter as I mentioned before and the nights are getting cooler. I had to pull out the Pendleton and wool blankets for a comfortable sleep at nights. I also have my ritual cups of tea in the evenings but unable to sit outside and gaze at the stars, comfortably, unless I dress warmly. The air is too chilly and seems almost damp. It is quieter now outside except the mosquitoes are still kicking around. It would be nice if they definitely got lost when temperatures hit the 50's, who needs those around, really.

I think a telescope is in order with all them shooting stars and that night sky. So beautiful and whenever the mosquitoes leave, will be a great time to explore the sky at nights. I will get to see two meteor showers that are upcoming -- Orionids October 21 and the Leonids, night of November 17/18. I hope there is no snow or clouds for the Leonid meteor shower. Can you imagine? Earth is passing through the debris of a passing meteor. Meteor showers are so beautiful. I truly hope you will be able to see them those nights while you are over there.

I have missed the Leonids a few years now because of cloud cover. I will have to keep an eye on that once again. Least I got to see the tail end of the shower one year after the clouds cleared. Very short show I must say. I even got to watch that lunar eclipse another year. People would stand and look at me strangely as I was standing there watching the moon until I told or asked if they were watching too.

I get so enchanted with the magical wonders of nature, what can I say. I find the beauty and event beyond words and can only hope that others who enjoy such days know what I am talking about. Others will just think I am a oddball. Anyways, I know you can't stay long therefore leave you with this ---> Two men at a bar had been enjoying a few drinks for the past couple of hours and were pretty drunk when one of them notices a beautiful woman sitting in the corner.

Guy One, "Jeez, I'd really like to dance with that girl."

Guy 2, "Well go ahead and ask her, don't be a chicken shit."

Guy One approaches the lovely woman and says, "Excuse me. Would you be so kind as to dance with me?" Seeing the man is totally drunk the woman says, "I'm sorry. Right now I'm concentrating on matrimony and I'd rather sit than dance." Guy One humbly returns to his friend.

Guy 2, "So what did she say?" asks the friend.

Guy One responded, "She said she's constipated on macaroni and would rather sh*t in her pants."

I send my prayers out to you my Darlins, take care and please stay safe. :)

Almost Sad

Hello me darlins,

I hope you are well. Tis morning here and guessing must be bout dinnertime for you so hope it was good. The sun no longer rises by 6am and sets quicker. The leaves are really starting to quicken the pace of turning color and I'm not ready for winter. No amount of stomping my feet will stop the passage of time though and I must learn to tend to each chore that needs to get to done before winter. (sigh) Joys of the single parent. :)

I have at least started buying Christmas gifts. Stock up now so I don't have to worry about last minute gifts. Now that's a relief. Last minute shopping during the Christmas rush is totally nuts. It is amusing to see people stop and stare at each other for the last item on a shelf and one does concede to the other with grace. I can't really say that about parking though, wow.

Hockey season has started and my boys kick me off the T.V. and banish me to the computer so they can watch a game with their favorite team, Toronto Maple Leafs. I don't mind though because their smiles and joy are priceless.

I did not get to go out berry picking this season. It's not recommended that one goes out by themself and my boys have been busy with school and homework. Joys of going back to school and their favorite item, homework. Anyways, I won't keep you as I know you are busy but will leave this to ponder ---> You might have been a child in the 80’s if ... you spent endless nights dreaming about being the Bionic Woman or Wonder Woman or the Six Million Dollar Man.. Please take care and stay safe.

Let's Migrate

Hello my Darlins,

Well, I got woken up this morning with a loud bunch of honking. The Canadian Wild geese are heading south. Even the dogs were jumping up and about barking at them and that's a silly sight. I mentioned my spider scare already too, yeah, really should take a look at the root of my arachnophobia some day but I stand by what I had said, they just don't have a place in my house. I don't know what they have to eat anyways, I vacuum, sweep n mop my floors and there are no ants or other insects. Least not that I have seen.

I went to the store last night and there's a section of the road that was in utter darkness. I was nervous walking along that section and hoping I didn't break my foot in a pothole again or see a bear. I really should in invest in a nightscope, can you imagine me with one of those? yes, a plain flashlight would work too but the road usually isn't in complete darkness like that. I walk because it's not far and is good for me.

A phone call came in this past weekend. My sons are teasing me about the guy who called and saying,' Mom has game.' I'm not sure if that's a good thing or what and they just laugh when I ask. I also saw a meteor. Wow! it seemed really close. I saw a quick flying flash, looked up and saw a streak of light then big burst of light. It was beautiful. So fast and wow! such beautiful sights available and poof! gone in flash. Fly by beauty?

I was thinking of planting some flower bulbs but there's so many squirrels and those moles. Not sure what would be best. I really got to learn about gardening. I can handle indoor houseplants no problem and managed to keep some lilies outside. I even had a Euchanasia bed till the dogs ate the flower heads. Very annoying finding that scene.

Well, I must be off and running. I will leave this for you --> When life seems like an uphill climb, take comfort in the fact that you're mooning everyone behind you. For now, I wish you a most pleasant evening, take care, please stay safe, sweet dreams and bid you Bonsoir mon cherz.

You Can Take My Breath Away

Hi My Darlings,

I am taken aback in surprise and delighted to find roses in my email. I am left smiling and suddenly feeling shy, silly huh? as you are far away and over yonder and I'm here yet such a simple act of sending these roses, says a lot about you. Thank you so much.

I spend my days smiling when I think about or look at that rose and all the others. I even have one taped up on the wall next to your picture along with a few others. I am currently listening to this song which has a verse, here ;

All I want is a place in your heart to fall into
All I need is someone to love
And tonight it's you, tonight it's you

A favorite verse which crosses my mind now and again when I sit outside gazing at the stars before bed. I will close my eyes and imagine you gazing at the stars, walking under the same sun, moon, light and skies even if we are on different points of the earth. I keep you in my thoughts and my heart, never far.

I would love to start a rose garden most likely those climbing rose bushes. I did find this one rose, once upon a time and I fell in love. It's called a 'St. John' rose and the size of a dinner plate! The aroma is breath taking. Mind you, I don't have a green thumb with planting roses and a task on my To-Do list, 'Learn how to grow Roses'. I want one that will be beautiful and knock people over with their smell. Do you think dogs would eat those too?

I know when it is night here that you are ahead a few hours and most likely in daylight. My last minute prayers go out to you before I head back indoors and I whisper softly ' Good night my darlings, God keep you safe.'

Fears and Tears

Hello my Darlings,

I burned up some boxes tonight even though it rained. Remember the tale of the unknown critter growling in the dark from the other night? well, I thought lighting a small fire with a lot of smoke would help discourage any ideas of continued lurking about. He or it was only twenty feet away! I so worry about my dogs and as it is Autumn, it is also time for the bears to start fattening up, right?

Yesterday was honoring those lost at the Twin towers. It was so difficult and I cried again. I often wonder if the tears will ever stop. I can only imagine the heartbreak of having to survive a lost beloved one. Bearing witness to the awful event itself is heartbreaking enough. My prayers go out to them.

I spent the day with puffy eyes and looked like the witch from the west from the Wizard of Oz, that ugly green one? I didn't feel pretty at all yesterday. Puffy, red eyes. I know darlin, stop doing that and I thank you. I still think you have me confused with some other lovely ladies though.

I believe the Loons have flown south now. I no longer hear them on the lake and the leaves are starting to fall from the trees. They have not all turned colors yet but a few are starting to fall. I must get winter coats and boots once again. Such joys of being single. Will we shop together one day? let me know.

I sign off now my darlings, since we know you have a calling. Please take care and stay safe, God Bless.
