Home Musings

Hello my Sweet Darlings,

I hope you have been well and spring is on it's way there for you too. Do we see the same moon? I have a 1/4 moon here and the nightscapes look so beautiful with the snow and silver light. Too bad my digital camera can't take photo's at night. Well, maybe I will get one of those soon.

A few signs and newspaper articles have been posted around our district, Ice fishing Derbies. I love Walleye but don't think I'd make a great fishing partner since I would babble on and on about this, that and what not, totally distracted. Oh yes, and no idea how a ice auger works and slow to pull a rod out of the water. Some strange worries of falling in. You don't want to know how many people complained about me losing fish and teased about starving to death if fishing was the only food available.

A large gathering of wild birds can be found at my house these days. Wow! I'm quite pleased since I get to hear them in the mornings. My sons get annoyed with the noisy Blue Jays though when they're trying to watch T.V. They even ask if they can practice their shooting skills on the birds! all in fun but the thought, hmm.

A few wolves have been seen in our little community too. Somebody lost their dog when a pack went after the wolf pack. I just hope that children didn't see any evidence of the violence. I know, it's part of the animal world but that is one mess I wouldn't want any child to see.

Alright, I know you must run as duty calls. I will leave these for you and hope we part with you chuckling, for now, ---> Some Funnies

The Washington Post's Style Invitational asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition.

Here are this year's winners:

1. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding a stupid person that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.

2. Foreploy (v): Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.

3. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.

4. Giraffiti (n): Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.

5. Sarchasm (n): The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

6. Inoculatte (v): To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

7. Hipatitis (n): Terminal coolness.

8. Osteopornosis (n): A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)

9. Karmageddon (n): its like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.

10 Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.

11. Glibido (v): All talk and no action.

12. Dopeler effect (n): The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

13. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

14. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.

15. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a grub in the fruit you're eating.

And the pick of the literature:

16. Ignoranus (n): A person who's both stupid and an a--hole.

Why Men Have Better Friends

Women's Friends:

A woman didn't come home one night. The next day she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house. The husband called his wife's ten best friends. None of them had seen her or knew what he was talking about.

Men's Friends:

A man didn't come home one night. The next day he told his wife that he had slept over at a friend's house. The wife called her husband's 10 best friends. Eight of them confirmed that he had slept over, and two claimed that he was still there.

-- Call a political candidate's campaign office and ask them for a donation to your non-candidacAy.

-- Find someone who is big into worrying about the threat of global warming, remind them of their own carbon dioxide and body heat contribution to the planet, and ask them to stop it.

-- Send a bill to every TV station, radio station, cell phone company, and satellite company, charging them an "access fee" for the waves they broadcast through your property. If they refuse payment, charge them with trespassing.

I hope you have a good week. Please take care and stay safe.

Outdoors Calling

Hello my Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and in good spirits. I cannot believe how the weather turned around! it has snowed and iced over and snowing yet again. Mind you, I love the snow, strange as that sounds. I will be heading out soon to take photographs. Some landscape scenes are just too beautiful not to capture immediately. I will put on my MP3 player and walk around taking photo's of the snow laden trees. I'll also have to seriously bundle up since it's windy and quite chilly.

As mentioned before, I have birds now. I have chickadee's, Blue Jay's and Whiskey Jack birds fighting for ownership of the bird feeders. The milk jug feeder doesn't fit the larger Whiskey Jack birds though and is a rather funny sight seeing them 'moon' the world as they stick their heads inside to eat the seeds. I would have to sit outside for some time to try and capture that sort of picture.

I am proud of our respective nations and people gathering to provide aid to the Haitian people. Natural or unnatural disasters can be quite terrifying for anybody but to see the cry for help being answered, makes me proud to be part of the human race. Endurance of the human spirit to rise up and meet the occasion to do right for others, never ceases to amaze me. I have heard about Aid scams though looking to defraud people out of these aid monies. I hope they are caught and jailed, no free card for them.

I know you must hurry off as duty calls and I cannot keep you distracted. I will leave my usual findings and hopefully we part with you chuckling --> Jokes and Humor

Shopping, Ill and Holidays

Hello my Darlins,

I can't believe the shopping frenzy going on, wow! almost stepping on the little short people or bout get stampeded. Also quite funny to see shelves almost bare during the day yet when you go at night, the shelves are restocked and lots of items to choose for gifts. I think these 24 hour shopping events are the coolest!

I had gone to a community dinner event and ended up sickly for a few days. I think some food got tainted and I was just down and out. Missed out on some awesome shopping days and behind in my gift shopping now. I get leery with potluck dinners or other public food events but is rude to decline when invited. It's too bad there is not a spray available to rid suspect germs from food, now that would be quite a invention!

All my Christmas cards are late but least they have Happy New Year wishes included so not too late? Shopping may be crazy but least we meet up with friends and have quick gossip and chatter sessions or lunch. I tire out too easily though so I try to just keep moving and get what I need fast but difficult when other gift ideas pop up. No wonder stores love shoppers. By the time I get home, I need a nap.

Well, I can't complain too much since I am down to stocking stuffers now. Not sure what to get either besides the usual grooming products. After all, who doesn't want to look or smell great? I have bombed out with mens cologne and will have to double check on fragrances. Popular ones didn't go over well with my sons.

Alright, I know time is short and duty calls. I will leave these for you and hope you least get to chuckle --> Christmas Jokes

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! please take care and stay safe,k.

Seasons Greetings

Greetings my Friends,

I hope you are well and in good spirits with the upcoming holidays. I do believe that I heard you have been nice this year and Santa will pop, poof, hop or waddle by your way as you deserve a Christmas and wonderful holidays. Make sure you get your stockings hanging up and cookies out, too.

Do you remember those stocking hats? I had one that I would not part with even after they went out of style but it poofed one year and I never saw it again. Joys of our childhood huh? Thankfully, there are patterns out now to make one and fleece is awesome fabric. Shall I tuck one under the tree for you?

Snow has finally arrived in the Borealis forest and is about half foot deep now, wow! big snowflakes but cloudy, cloudy skies. Roads were hazardous and too slick to drive even with snow tires. We still found ourselves sliding around so had to creep back home. So much for sneaking away for Christmas shopping.

I didn't even get the chance to get my lights up yet but I have to get a new outdoor power cord since a dog (not mine!) chewed the last cord. Add to the joy of trying to find somebody to go up on a ladder since I am too scared of heights. Yeah, it's only a few feet but add my own height and it looks way too high, silly phobia, yeah.

I am back to drinking tea in the evenings and now added hot chocolate and apple cider for these chillier days. I will have to pick up marshmallows also for the hot chocolate. Temperatures still are not too bad though. Not quite to the normal -30+ or wicked wind chill but I might be jinxing myself now.

I will put my Christmas tree up around December 10 and take it down about two weeks after New Years. Some people think that's too long but I love gazing at the tree with all those colorful lights. I hang decorations from the ceiling and the lights just add such colorful displays. How can anybody resist that?

I know time is short for you and must run. I will leave these for you and hope you least leave with a chuckle --> Christmas Jokes
